. . . . . . . . M a i l A r t . . . .. . . .
2 sides of the first post card (pc) that I made-1975.
With an urge to communicate in a city of cars, I had a whited out the driver's side on my 64 VW Bus to write statements & Questions. Other people's ideas & Questions would help to move the thinking on... So I made this oversized card. I used 2 mailing lists- Beyond Baroque's & CARP's. I mailed out requests for Questions. Recipients could cut the card in half. Keep a pic of The 64 VW Bus. Mail the other 1/2 pre-addressed to me with their Question. I had no idea what I was tapping into as I began receiving "Questions" from all aver the world. I received nearly 300 Questioins. I HAD BECOME PART OF THE ETERNAL NETWORK OF MAIL ART.

An array of postcards that I made. Mid-1970's to late 1980's. Many are 1 of a kind. Some are editions of 10 or 20. A few are editions of 100 or more. Original photos were usually unique cards.
Bumper sticker. Made about 200.
I considered myself & everyone else who lived in this city ,Los Angeles, an alien. Most of us have come from somewhere else.
I made a rubber-stamp which I used on mail & probably some $. I started dragging the stamp across the paper to give it movement. Enlarged on photocopy machine, this became a bumper sticker,
Some of the smaller books I made over the years: poetry, letters, zines, concepts, lists, etc... about 1969 to 2005. The bulk of these made in the 80's.
